This week

I'm not feeling very well today, so i've spent most of the evening in bed. i woke up to learn that lilli had {organic} cookies for dinner, didn't brush her teeth, and isn't wearing jammies....at least Cason tried, right? :)

This week has been a weird one for us. all 3 of us are on CRAZY sleeping schedules since being in Ashton for the new year...but we're working on getting back on track.

Lilli is spending lots of time playing in her ball pit, cleaning up toys, taking her toy pelican for walks, sharing with us, running away from us in restaurants, befriending strangers, hating naps {no more binki's}, drinking from straws, saying "ow-sigh" {outside}, and always wants to go outside. I had the brilliant idea to trim her hair, and butchered the poor girls bangs...i just keep reminding myself that they looked weird before too!

We're still looking for jobs, but still no luck. We also filled out the paper work for a new apartment and we're praying we will get it! It's not my dream apartment. It doesn't have a washer/dryer for starters, or a second bathroom, or 3 bedrooms...but it's cheaper and significantly nicer than where we're living now, so i can't complain!

Hmm...what else happened this week?? We went to the mall and i discovered a children's clothing store called Crazy 8, and i'm in love! It's right up there with Gymboree and Baby Gap, but not quite as expensive...I'll still have to keep myself from going more than a couple of times a year though!

Annnd...that about sums up my weekly blog post...sorry it wasn't too exciting! :)

she amazes me.

It is amazing how fast lilli is learning! Little children truly see and learn everything we do!

I was packing this evening preparing for our trip back to boise when Lilli picked up my flat iron. At first she thought the plug looked like a cell phone, so she put it up to her ear and said "Hi!" {something she does with my phone anytime she can get her hands on it} She then looked at it for a second longer, picked up the whole thing, and started 'straightening' her hair with it! She's probably seen me fix my hair a handful of times, so i was really surprised by her! Cason and I definitely have to be even more careful about what we say and do around her from now on! hopefully she'll learn good things, like folding her arms for prayer all by herself {which she's been doing for a couple of weeks now}...i always feel like a good momma when i see that!

She's learned several words this week alone. They are:

-Up

-Shoe {"sh-ee"}

-Jessie {"essie"}

She'll also point at something and say "Wha tha" which we think is "What's that?"

{for those of you wondering, no, she has not said 'momma' yet.}

I love watching her learn...who knows what she'll be saying next week!

{Side note: it's a resolution of mine to catch up, and keep up my blog, so be prepared to read a lot more from me in 2011!}

baby steps

Lilli took her first steps tonight...and i almost missed it!

As I was walking into the kitchen, Cason started yelling at me to come back. I thought he was just trying to annoy me, so I ignored him initially, but then decided to go back...and there she was - toddling right along! I of course got

super excited, yelled a bunch, overwhelming her, and making her fall down {oops}.

She took about 7 steps, and we were really surprised. We've been practicing a lot with her, but we normally can't even get her to stand on her own--so we really weren't expecting this!
