January 2016

Happy New Year!

Cason's schedule went back to normal, and I went down to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week for the first couple of weeks & then switched to ( mostly) 8 hour shifts. Also, my schedule changed from 5pm-1:15 am to 9:15am- 5:45pm. We eat dinner as a family each night, I do homework with Lilli, put her to bed, and still have couple time with Cason. It's fantastic.

Lilli got a really bad cold right before my birthday, so we decided to stay in for the night. I got Flowers, a new cabinet, &Cason made a nice dinner.

I got sick shortly after, and then Cason followed. And then... We each got a sinus infection. I've never experienced anything like it. We were so, so sick, & couldn't miss any work. We were sick for over 2 weeks, But as always...we survived it. Our life isn't always fun, but I'm grateful for our little family and that we are in it together!

December 2015

I've been avoiding posting about this month. As long as Cason & I work at the post office December is going to be a nightmare.

I worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week from December 5- January 1st. Since Cason has been there for over a year, he gets some perks & only had to work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week for the week before Christmas. During that week I'd leave for work at 4:15 pm for my shift at 5. I got off at 5am and met Cason halfway between work and home to swap Lilli, so Cason could start work at 5:15am. He got off at 5pm and we'd swap places again.

After work, Lilli and I would drive home, she'd sleep for a bit longer while I bathed, I'd wake her up, get her ready for school, drive her there, and then go to sleep at 8am and sleep until I had to go get her at 3:15.

So...life was pretty fun. We held it together better than I expected , but still...it was really, really hard on everyone. Lilli struggled with it and had some behavior problems and we were just so. darn. tired.

We actually had a really good Christmas morning. Cason made quiche, and we opened presents. This was the first year we could actually afford presents for each other! Then I headed to work for a 10 hour shift.

We skipped celebrating New Years Eve, since Suprise! I was working ( a 12 hour) &...that was how we ended 2015.

November 2015

Work. Work. Work.

I've been working at least 46-50 hours a week all month. Luckily, Cason recently got promoted to being a "career" employee, so he no longer has to do Overtime, but I am required to. Its a really tough job, but it pays well, and Cason even gets benefits now, so we are trying to make it work.

My typical week day goes like this:

1:30 pm: wake up, eat, get ready for the day
3:00 pm- 3:30: pick Lilli up from school with Cason
4:10-4:50 pm: drive to work
5:00 pm-3:30 am: work
3:30 am-4am: drive home
4:00 am- 6:30 am: eat, sometimes sleep, or clean, etc
6:30am: wake Lilli up
7:40 am: drive Lilli to school
8:00am: get home from taking Lilli to school
8:00am- 1:30pm: SLEEP

Dylan turned 4 on the 14th, and we helped him celebrate at a batman/ Spider-Man party. He had lots and lots of friends there- it was crazy, but fun. Batman even came!

On Thanksgiving, Cason & Lilli made a small meal of mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and a little hen. It was delicious.

I typically don't do any Black Friday shopping, but I pass several places on the drive home from work, so I decided to go to Target. There wasn't anything specific that I was looking for, but I did find a few good things!

October 2015

October is our favorite!

I was working several 10 hour shifts a week, so we weren't able to do every thing we normally do to celebrate, but were were still able to squeeze some things in like: making Sugar Cookies, making a Halloween ginger bread house, Painting pumpkins, watching lots of Scary Movies (including going to Goosebumps with Lilli), and of course trick or treating!

I drove around a lot of neighborhoods last year while working at Papa Johns, so I had a good feel for which neighborhoods would be best for trick or Treating. We went to a development in south Jordan, and it did not disappoint! There were so many fun houses, and SO many kids. We had a great time!

September 2015

MLilli got sick several times at the beginning of September. She would cough so har at night, she would throw up all over her bed (this happenened 3 times in less than 2 weeks). It was terrible!

We had our 7th wedding anniversary on the 19th, but didn't celebrate right away due to work and being sick. We kept it simple, dinner & a movie, and Cason gave me flowers, chocolates, and a necklace.

I had a couple of days off from work and spent it cleaning and relaxing. We also had a movie/game night with Cason's sisters and their families.

August 2015

On the 20th, my sweet little nephew, Coby was adopted my my sister Jana and her husband Vinnie. He has been a part of our family for some time now, and we are super excited about it being official!

Alos on the 20th, Lilli started 1st grade! She initially said the it was "funner than her old school", (by which she means "grade"). I think she loved it so much because she gets 3 recesses instead of just one, but she has since changed her opinion. We don't love her teachers this year, and she has way too much homework. Its sad to see her lose her excitement about school- hopefully next year will be better. She does however, seem to enjoy her "Duel Immersion" class and is doing well learning German.

On the 25th my baby turned 6. SIX! it's insane! She was excited to take some treats to school with her to share with the class, and we celebrated at home with donuts for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and opening a few gifts before i had to leave for work.

We had a "My Little Pony/ Dragon Party" that weekend. We invited a handful of kids from the neighborhood, and several of them RSVP'd but...none of them showed up. It was really disappointing. Neko, Dylan, and Nicole were there, and a little boy that Lilli plays with sometimes was also able to join in. Lilli had a fantastic time, so I guess everything turned out ok!

My parents made one final visit before leaving for their Temple Mission to the Philippians. We sure do miss them, but are happy that they are enjoying themselves so much.
